This Sunday some DePauw students on the trip decided to take
a day trip to Venice because we had the day off. We learned a lot about how to
plan trips on our own. And being the inexperienced college students that we
are, we went into the excursion not knowing what train we planned to take, when
the trains were, or how we were to get back to Grado.
Not knowing all of this information caused not only delays
getting there, but also getting back. We arrived in Venice three hours later
than expected because we did not know the train schedule, and we were stuck at
the train station outside of Grado for two hours before finding a cab back because
we did not plan that part out either.
It was a stressful day, but we now know on our next trip how
crucial planning it is. It seems so obvious now, but we really thought we could
figure things out as we went along. So the lesson here is: plan EVERYTHING!
Ciao!
