My Trip to Venice

Caio readers,

This weekend my friends and I hopped on a train to visit Venice, the "City of Water" where none of us had been before. Traveling to Venice could not have been smoother because the public transportation system in Europe is fantastic. No planning went into getting our bus or train tickets and  the longest we ever had to wait for a ride was 20 minutes. After the three hours of traveling we arrived in Venice, and there was something about Venice that nothing on this planet could have prepared me to experience... ALL THE TOURISTS. Venice is one of the travel capitals of the world for a reason and the thousands of people combined with the small streets creates a sense of claustrophobia. However, none of this mattered to us. We were so entranced by the beauty and the history of this beautiful city it seemed as if we were alone when walking its historic walkways.
Venice's layout is confusing and random, but for me this was one of the greatest parts about it. We spent most of the trip lost, wandering the streets of Venice discovering Churches, theaters, restaurants, and more all because the GPS couldn't find our hotel. So many of my favorite places in Venice, such as Saint Marls Basilica. To anyone traveling in Venice, put down the map and just walk. You'll love what you find and Venice is small enough that you'll get to where you want to go eventually.
After a quick nap at the hotel, we travelled to Saint Marco square to listen to the sweet sound of the street orchestras where many gather to walk around and listen. Venice is not know for its crazy night life, rather a relaxed and calming experience where people mingle and enjoy this unique city. I loved my day in Venice and I would recommend it to anyone traveling in Italy.

Thats all for know, see you next time.
