A Day in Pisa

On our first day of traveling in Tuscany we went to Pisa. I had been there before with my Grandparents in 2008, but was too young to really remember anything besides the leaning tower. As we entered the square I realized there was much more to Pisa than the iconic leaning tower. The duomo, baptistery, and cemetery were in the same enclosure which made for a breathtaking view.

Our tour guide talked about the architecture and history of the buildings. She had very interesting things to say which made for a good discussion. After our time with the tour guide it was on to climb the tower. The spiral staircase was slightly disorienting because of the tilt. But the view from the top was amazing. You could see the town of Pisa as well as a superior view of the cathedral and baptistery. The climb was definitely worth it!
When we arrived back at the Agritourismo for dinner everyone was pretty exhausted. But it was a great day nevertheless!
