Week 6: 4th of July

Unfortunately, Fourth of July rolled around when we were abroad in Italy so we couldn't celebrate the holiday with our families and friends with BBQ's and red white and blue everything, but we did what we can to celebrate all the way across the ocean. We all wore red white and blue to class of course to show our pride. Then Francesca and Michael took us out to lunch at a restaurant that wasn't American, but they had really good burgers, hot dogs and fries. So although we couldn't be in America with the cookouts, corn and baked beans, but we go pretty close with some burgers and dogs. I don't like burgers and hot dogs though so I got eggs with bacons and ham and it was amazing. It was exactly like an American breakfast you'd get at a diner. Then after the second half of our class, we all went to the beach and hangout together. Although living in Italy for two months has been amazing, it was nice to celebrate our own country for the day with friends and not care if the Italians were judging the fact that we were Americans, because we are proud to be.

Until next time,
McKenzie Boyle
